Our Story

Our journey began in 2020 during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meg Hilbert Jaquay, based at her factory Jakana Foods in Kawempe, envisioned a solution to the disrupted food supply chains and started the only food delivery service in Uganda. Collaborating with Dancing Cup, a restaurant in Bugolobi, where the market was set up, Meg initiated a mailing list and consolidated a master product list in Excel, allowing customers to place orders easily.

Collaboration and Growth

In collaboration with Ark Organics, a specialty food store strategically located in the heart of Kampala, we efficiently organized and processed orders. This central location was crucial for easing deliveries, as the majority of our customers were situated around Kampala. High-quality items from various vendors were meticulously collected, packed, and delivered to our customers using the reliable Boda Fresh delivery service. This innovative approach helped us maintain the master list even after the peak of the pandemic.

Expansion into Upcountry Markets

In 2021, we began expanding our reach by participating in upcountry markets in Arua, Fort Portal, Gulu, and Entebbe. This expansion allowed us to bring fresh, high-quality products to more communities, supporting local farmers and vendors across Uganda.

Evolution and Expansion

In 2022, we transitioned from our initial Excel-based ordering system to the comprehensive e-commerce platform you are now using. This development marked a significant milestone in our journey, enhancing the convenience and efficiency of our services.
